Do you suffer from sensitive skin? Is your skin fragile and tender? Sensitive skin is a skin condition in which skin is prone to itching and irritation experienced as a subjective sensation when using cosmetics and toiletries.
Sensitive skin is often fair, delicate, youthful in appearance and almost translucent with scarcely visible pores and can be dry and fragile. Cosmetics, soaps and other substances often produce irritation and the skin may burn very easily in the sun. It is easily irritated, meaning it can become red, inflamed, dry and itchy. Someone with sensitive skin may sometimes have allergic reactions to certain skin care products.
To help keep your sensitive skin soft, moisturised and to stop any irritation, you must do several things.
- Protect it as much as possible from the elements, tough in Ireland I know with 4 seasons in one day! Use a good sunscreen ALL YEAR ROUND.
- Don’t use too many heavy products on your skin, you don’t want to overload it! A good cleanser, serum if needed and moisturiser is sufficient. Don’t exfoliate or use a toner if you find it makes your skin become dry and irritated.
- Keep hydrated. A must with all skin types.
